Before the RCT

The following information may be helpful prior to your standard (i.e. no sedation) treatment visit:

If you have any unanswered questions or concerns, please call our office. We consider it a priority to have you feel confident in your health care decisions.

The procedure will be completed using local anesthesia, meaning Dr. Richards will numb the tooth and surrounding areas You will remain awake and alert during the treatment. There are usually no restrictions regarding driving or returing to work.

Please eat a full breakfast or lunch. There is no need to fast prior to standard treatment.

If you can safely take ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol), it does help reduce inflammation when taken prior to the procedure. We recommend 3 tablets of Advil or 2 tablets of Tylenol.  You may take it at home or we can provide it at the office.

If you take medications regularly, you should maintain your typical routine.
If your physician has advised that you take antibiotic medication due to joint replacement or heart issues, please follow their instructions.  If you have any questions, please call our office.
